Welcome to one of the world's oldest and most popular casino games - Baccarat. A game popular in Asia, the high sounding name is in fact a mislead if you're going by its apparent elegance. Played in a separate area by well dressed players with high table minimums. At a regular baccarat table, which is the size of a craps table with 3 casino dealers and 12 to 14 players, each member as well as player dealing may still bet on the player or the banker. However, it is habitual for the dealer to bet on the banker.
The deal moves around the table and if you don't want it, you may pass the shoe to the next player. The same person keeps dealing as long as the banker keeps winning. The player looks at the cards and gives them back to the player who deals them, who turns over the cards and a dealer announces the totals. Depending on this the dealer may instruct the person dealing the cards to deal a third card. Finally the dealers pay winning wagers and collect the losing ones from the dealer. There are 2 types of baccarat - Mini Baccarat and Midi Baccarat.
Systems of Baccarat:
- Usually played with 8 decks of cards.
- Cards values are: ace = 1, 2- 9 = pip value, 10 and face cards = 0.
- At the onset of a new shoe, the dealer turns over a card., which in turn determines how many they will burn.
- The cut card is placed 16 cards from the bottom of the shoe. When it appears, the dealer finishes that hand, plays one more and starts off with a new shoe. If the cut card comes instead of the first, the dealer finishes that hand, and starts a fresh shoe.
- The game begins by all players betting on the "player", or "banker", or a tie. You may also bet on a player pair and banker pair.
- The dealer gives 2 cards each to the player and the banker after all bets are down. The score of the hand is the right digit of the card total.
- Whoever has the greater score - the player or the dealer - wins.
- The player is paid even money on winning banker bets,.
